Why most AI images look generic โ€” and how to fix it

You have probably seen AI-generated images that look a bit... off. Slightly weird faces, strange lighting, or just that unmistakable "AI look" that makes them feel cheap. The difference between those images and the stunning ones you see on professional campaigns comes down almost entirely to how you write your prompt.

A basic prompt like "teenagers fundraising" gives you a generic, flat result. A detailed prompt with style modifiers, lighting descriptions, and composition instructions gives you something that looks like it was shot by a professional photographer or illustrated by a professional artist.

In this lesson you will learn the exact formula for writing prompts that produce professional results โ€” every time.

๐Ÿ“
The 5-part prompt formula

Every great AI image prompt has five parts. You do not always need all five, but the more you include, the better the result:

1
Subject โ€” What is in the image? Be specific. Not "a teenager" but "a 16-year-old girl with a backpack, smiling, looking determined".
2
Setting โ€” Where is it? Not "outdoors" but "on a dramatic mountain ridge at 3,000 metres, with a valley visible far below".
3
Lighting โ€” This is the biggest difference between amateur and professional results. Options: "golden hour lighting", "soft diffused daylight", "dramatic side lighting", "blue hour", "overcast natural light", "warm candlelight".
4
Style โ€” What should it look like? Options: "cinematic photography", "editorial magazine style", "watercolour illustration", "flat design vector art", "3D render", "vintage travel poster style", "documentary photography".
5
Mood and quality โ€” How should it feel? "Inspiring and adventurous", "warm and community-focused", "dramatic and epic". End with "highly detailed, 8K, professional quality" to push the quality up.

Example prompts for fundraising campaigns

Here are ready-to-use prompts for the most common fundraising campaign types. Copy them into Creative Fabrica Studio's Image Generator and swap in your own details:

๐Ÿ”๏ธ
For a trek or expedition:
"A group of four teenagers in hiking gear standing triumphantly on a mountain summit, arms raised, looking out over a vast landscape, golden hour lighting, cinematic photography style, warm tones, inspiring and epic mood, highly detailed, 8K quality"
๐ŸŒ
For an overseas volunteering trip:
"A teenage volunteer helping build a school in a rural African village, working alongside local children, bright equatorial sunlight, documentary photography style, warm and hopeful mood, authentic and unposed, highly detailed"
๐ŸŽช
For a fundraising event poster:
"A vibrant community fundraising fair with colourful bunting, stalls, and happy people, aerial view from above, bright summer daylight, flat design illustration style, cheerful and festive mood, bold colours, clean and modern"
๐Ÿง
For a bake sale:
"A beautifully arranged bake sale table with homemade cakes, cupcakes, and cookies, overhead flat lay photography, soft natural window light, warm and inviting mood, pastel colour palette, food photography style, highly detailed"

Your action: Generate 3 images using the formula

Open Creative Fabrica Studio and go to AI Tools โ†’ Image Generator. Generate at least 3 images using the 5-part formula above. Try different styles โ€” one photographic, one illustrated, one more graphic/poster-style.

Save the best result from each batch. You will use these in Lesson 5 when you build your complete brand kit.

๐Ÿ’ก
Pro tip: Generate in batches of 4. The AI gives you slightly different results each time โ€” sometimes one of the four is dramatically better than the others. Always generate multiple options before deciding.
