What is a sponsorship one-pager?

A sponsorship one-pager is a single, professional-looking document you send to local businesses asking for a donation or sponsorship. It is the difference between a scruffy handwritten note and a proper business proposal.

Businesses receive requests for donations all the time. A well-designed one-pager makes you stand out and shows that you are serious, organised, and worth supporting.

What to include on your one-pager
1.
Your name and photo — make it personal. A face builds trust.
2.
What you are doing — the expedition, trip, or project in one clear sentence
3.
Why it matters — what you will learn, what it means to you, why it is worth supporting
4.
Your fundraising target — how much you need in total and how much you have raised so far
5.
What the business gets — mention them on social media, put their logo on your poster, send them a postcard from the destination
6.
How to donate — bank transfer details, a link, or a QR code
7.
Your contact details — email and/or phone number

Keep it to one page. Businesses will not read a long document. One page, well designed, is far more effective than three pages of text. If you cannot fit everything on one page, you have too much text — cut it down.

In Canva, search for "sponsorship proposal" or "business proposal" templates. Choose one and customise it with your real details. When done, download as PDF and you will have a professional document ready to send to local businesses.
