What makes a great fundraising poster?

A fundraising poster needs to answer five questions at a glance: Who? What? Why? How much? How to help? If someone can answer all five in under 5 seconds, your poster is working.

Who? Your name (and photo if possible)

What? What you are raising money for (e.g. "Scout expedition to Iceland")

Why? One sentence about why it matters to you

How much? Your target amount and how much you have raised so far

Help? A clear call to action — "Donate at [link]" or "Scan the QR code"

Step-by-step: build your poster

In Canva, click Create a design and search for "A4 poster" or choose a custom size of 210×297mm

Browse templates for "fundraising" or "charity poster" and choose one to start from

Add a large, eye-catching headline — e.g. "Help Me Get to Iceland!" or "I'm Raising £800 for My Scout Expedition"

Add a photo — ideally of you, or of the destination/activity you are fundraising for

Add your target amount and a call to action — a donation link, QR code, or contact details

Download as PDF Print for printing, or PNG for sharing digitally
