Before you make a penny, make a plan. Here's everything you need to set up before you start fundraising.
Before you run a single event or sell a single product, there are a handful of free accounts and tools you should set up. They take less than an hour in total — and they will make a real difference to how much you raise and how easily you raise it.
Use our free calculator below to work out exactly how much you need to raise. Your weekly and monthly target becomes your real goal — everything else flows from that number.
Enter your trip details below and we'll instantly show you exactly how much you need to raise each week and month. No maths required.
Each of the four platforms below is completely free to join — no hidden charges, no subscriptions, no catches. But each one is absolutely essential to your fundraising journey. Work through them one by one using the steps below.
easyfundraising is one of the most powerful — and most overlooked — fundraising tools available to you. Here's how it works: you create a free fundraising cause, then share a special link with your family and friends. Every time they shop online at over 7,000 retailers (Amazon, eBay, ASOS, Tesco, John Lewis and hundreds more), the retailer makes a small donation to your cause — at absolutely no extra cost to your supporters. They spend nothing extra. You earn money. It really is that simple.
The more people you get signed up and shopping, the more you earn. Some Ways2Raise members have raised hundreds of pounds through easyfundraising alone, just from their family's everyday shopping. Want to know exactly how to make the most of it? Visit the easyfundraising lesson in the Creator Hub →
As a minor, and so that easyfundraising can verify you as a genuine fundraiser, it's really important that you include the name of your trip or expedition company when you sign up. Use this format:
This tells easyfundraising exactly who you are and what you're fundraising for — and makes it much more likely your account will be approved quickly.
JustGiving is the UK's most trusted online fundraising platform. You create a free personal fundraising page, share the link with everyone you know, and they can donate online in seconds. It's safe, secure, and completely free to set up.
One of the biggest advantages is Gift Aid. If a UK taxpayer donates to your page, JustGiving automatically claims an extra 25% from the government — at no cost to your donor. So a £10 donation becomes £12.50. Over time, that adds up to a significant amount.
When you set up your page, make sure your title clearly describes your trip and your name — for example: “Alex's Kenya Expedition 2028 — Camps International”. A clear title builds trust and gets more donations.
Create Your Free JustGiving Page →Canva is a free online design tool that lets you create professional-looking posters, social media graphics, sponsorship letters, flyers, and fundraising materials — even if you have zero design experience. It has hundreds of ready-made templates you can customise in minutes.
You'll use Canva throughout your entire fundraising journey — from your first social media post to your sponsorship letter to your final thank-you card. Sign up for the free plan (you don't need to pay for anything). Visit the Canva lesson in the Creator Hub →
Get Canva Free →Vinted is a free app and website where you can sell your unwanted clothes, shoes, bags, and accessories. It's completely free to list items — Vinted takes a small buyer fee, so you keep everything you earn. It's one of the fastest and easiest ways for teenagers to raise their first £50–£200.
Start by going through your wardrobe and listing anything you no longer wear. Good photos and honest descriptions get the best results. Ask your family if they have anything they'd like to donate to your cause too — many parents are happy to help.
Sign Up to Vinted Free →FundMyTrip is your free personal fundraising tracker.
